Strong cooperation with outside organizations, in relation to founding, applying, manufacturing and commercialization of our technologies or their products is essential for acceleration, and leads to the big success of drug development and advanced bio-businesses.

DNAVEC consistently improves and renews vector platform technology, extensively researches fundamental target use, and conducts application researches with outside clinical doctors, research organizations and industrial. Some partners, that is, pharmaceutical companies are conducting clinical trials of gene therapy and gene vaccines. We have established a manufacturing system of cGMP level vectors in a CRO in England .

In addition, DNAVEC is advancing partnerships such as the formation of a consortium with some domestic bio-ventures with their characteristic technology in order to accelerate commercial developments. DNAVEC awaits proposals for entrustment and/or cooperative development from new partners such as pharmaceutical or other industrial companies.

Cooperative Researches

Because of the high evaluation of DNAVEC’s platform technology by externalresearchers and research organizstions , a network of cooperative research has been established among domestic and overseas activities. For example, the “Clinical Research Consortium for Gene Therapy” with Kyushu University , the cancer gene therapy research network with Chiba University , the “CF (cystic fibrosis) Consortium” with 3 English universities, and the “AIDS cooperative research” between the Beijing University of Technology and the University of Tokyo are representative..

Transfer of Our Technology

Preparative negotiations aimed at drug development using our vector technology have already started with Japanese, American and European pharmaceutical companies etc. Particularly, we have reached basic agreement with a Chinese pharmaceutical company for the transfer of our technology. In the beginning the target disease will be disorders of the circulation system. However, we will expand the target diseases to cancer, AIDS, disorders of the nervous system, and cystic fibrosis etc as the occasion warrants.
Moreover, our vector technology is expected to be applied in the fields of function analysis of genes and proteins, and the preparation/manufacturing of recombinant proteins. We have reached a basic agreement with an influential domestic bio-industry for the cooperative commercialization of reagents and tools for use in researches.

Entrusted Vector Manufacturing Companies

A vector manufacturing system on a large scale for pre-clinical safety studies and cGMP level production of the vectors for clinical use has been established at an experienced CRO in England through our technical support. At the start, this enterprise will be capable of supplying medicinal products for gene therapy.
We can respond to the production of recombinant vectors for pre-clinical use and other use in bio-business in our vector manufacturing facility at the Miyukigaoka Laboratories.
